Service during Community Time

During our Community Time on Tuesday, each class worked on a service project. Second Graders decorated placemats that will be sent to Meals on Wheels. 





How is our cursive writing?

 The Second Graders have learned all of the lower case cursive letters and enjoy practicing on the Glow Draw app.

Here we are practicing our capital letters.

Recess
With all kinds of crazy weather this month, we have been creative with our recess space. When it is too cold to go outside the students often go to the MPR or the gym and find fun things to play. Below, the boys enjoy using the Kennex to make tops!


If the recess yard is too wet, we sometimes make use of the patio to get some fresh air and play ball with our friends.
                     

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Our Sacrament of Reconciliation Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, February 26th, at 7:00 p.m. Eight Second Graders and one Third Grader will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Click below to hear the Second Graders reciting the Act of Contrition.

Science: Simple Machines In science class the students have been learning about the six types of simple machines: screw, lever, inclined plane, wedge, wheel and axle, and pulley. After learning about inclined planes, the students were given the challenge to create an inclined plane so that a car at the top of a box could travel down the ramp and continue rolling.                               First the students discussed what classroom materials to use to create the inclined plane. Next, they got to work making their ramps and made sure that the car successfully traveled down the ramp. Sacrament of Reconciliation Prayer Service Celebrating God's Forgiveness and Mercy On Tuesday, February 26th. Fr. Richard Jasper celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
