Pen Pal Day

The Second Graders were all very excited when they arrived at Holy Child School at Rosemont to spend the morning with their pen pals.

During Community Time, the students gathered in their families, signed beach balls, and enjoyed a treat of water ice.

At Lego Club, Keith and Emmet collaborated in making Spacey Alligators. We all admired their creative work.
Sharing Memories
Students gathered with a partner or in a small group to look over the 2019 yearbook! It was a great year.



Upcoming Events and Reminders

Summer Work Folder 

Your child will be receiving his/her summer work folder on Monday, June 3rd. Please review the folder so that any questions may be answered.

Here are a few reminders for our last few days of school.
Monday: All students need to wear their gym uniforms since the students will be having a Field Day in the afternoon.
  1. Please apply sunscreen to your child before he/she leaves for school.
  2. Your child should bring a water bottle to school on Monday
Tuesday: All students need to wear their regular school uniforms.  

Wednesday: Pizza and Bowling
  • Students should wear their regular school uniforms and sneakers. We will go bowling at 10:30 a.m.
Pizza will be served to all students who have already ordered pizza. Each child will need to bring a drink. Dessert will be provided.

  • Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. (MPR) followed by a Stepping Up Ceremony: 2:30 p.m. in the gym. All are welcome
                                             We are looking forward to a fun time.

Dear Parents,

How quickly this school year has passed! Each of your children has brought his/her own personality to our class and has contributed to the joy of our classroom. This is a special group of students and I have really enjoyed teaching them. It has been a wonderful year and I am very grateful for all of your support.

Science: Simple Machines In science class the students have been learning about the six types of simple machines: screw, lever, inclined plane, wedge, wheel and axle, and pulley. After learning about inclined planes, the students were given the challenge to create an inclined plane so that a car at the top of a box could travel down the ramp and continue rolling.                               First the students discussed what classroom materials to use to create the inclined plane. Healthy Living: Touching Safety Rules The Second Graders were all ears as Ms. Jester taught about the touching safety rules. The boys chanted, 'Say no, get away! Tell someone, tell someone!" Students named people in their families, school, and community who are trusted adults and could lend a helping hand. CommunityTime This week the Second Graders showed their creativity when decorating snack bags. The Early Childhood students will fill the bags, and they will be distributed to the needy. Continental Math League Round 2 on the CML was completed this week. Students did their best to solve six very challenging word problems. The photos show their intense concentration. Sacrament of Reconciliation Prayer Service Celebrating God's Forgiveness and Mercy On Tuesday, February 26th. Fr. Richard Jasper celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
