Art Show   The Second Graders proudly showed off their creative work of arts when we visited the art show. We were all very impressed with the artistic talents of all of the Holy Child students. Pen Pals In addition to practicing for next week's First Holy Communion liturgy, the Second Graders made First Communion cards for their pen pals at Holy Child School at Rosemont who will be celebrating the Sacrament of Eucharist this Saturday. Science It isn't easy to balance a popsicle stick on a chopstick, but these Second graders were able to do it. They wrapped a pipecleaner around the popsicle stick and then adjusted the clothespins on the pipecleaner until the popsicle was balanced on the chopstick. The students partnered up for this challenge. Check next week's blog for photos to see who was able to successfully meet this challenge. We pray for all priests. We also remember the new commandment that Jesus gave us. "Love one another as I have

Math Measurement: Many Second Graders were busy this week using measuring tapes, yardsticks, and rulers to get accurate measurements in and around the classroom. Multiplication: Another group of children was working on the distributive property of multiplication and the students are shown here dividing arrays to show the distributive property.             Patterns: Check out these creative patterns! Shared Reading When the First Graders visited our classroom last week, each Second Grader read a favorite story to their First Grade friend(s). All of the students really enjoyed it. Student of the Week Student of the Week, Owen Rosser, showed this picture on the Smartboard, and shared his experiences of kayaking with his classmates.  Upcoming Events Friday, April 19th and Monday, April 22nd - No school for Easter Break Tuesday, April 23rd - HCA Night at Panera’s - 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tues
