Science: Balance

In our unit on balance, the students began by balancing their own bodies in several different ways. Here they are walking on the balance beam. When taking large large steps, they learned that their arms were very helpful in maintaining their balance.

The students also practiced keeping yardsticks balanced on their hands which was quite a bit harder than it looked.

Can a popsicle stick be balanced on a chopstick? The students partnered up for this challenge. Check next week's blog for photos to see who was able to successfully meet this challenge.

Holy Days

We focused on the Triduum Days of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.

On Holy Thursday we remember the gift of the Eucharist that Jesus gave us at the Last Supper. We pray for all priests. We also remember the new commandment that Jesus gave us. "Love one another as I have loved you."

Good Friday

These crosses help us remember of the great love that Jesus has for each of us.

Stations of the Cross: Last week the 6th graders led us in the Stations of the Cross as they reverently acted out each station or Jesus's passion and death.

Easter Sunday

One way we celebrated the joy of Easter was by participating in an Easter egg hunt. Thank you 8th graders, Mrs. Mossor, and Mrs. Mueller. We had so much fun.

       Student of the Week
Leah, our Student of the Week, dramatically read the Frog and Toad story, Cookies, and we were all craving chocolate chip cookies.
