Social Studies: Treasure Maps

After studying the cardinal directions and the primary intercardinal directions the students created a treasure map and wrote directions to get to the treasure chest.

The students finished product showed a map with a compass rose and five different locations.

Here the students are working together as one student reads the directions and another follows them in search of the treasure chest.

Onomatopoeia

Check out our onomatopoeia words. Each student choose a Halloween onomatopoeia word, wrote a sentence about it and drew an illustration for it.

Energizers: During each day the students take a few energizer breaks to get them up and moving.
Some of these are Simon Says, Trading Places, Would You Rather...?, Six Spots, and My Bonnie. The students also play some spelling and math games while playing ball. Research has shown that short bursts of physical activity deliver big benefits for brain health and academic performance.

Counting by ten with three-digit numbers.
