Science: Skeletal System
Mr. Bones visited the classroom and the
students were able to get an up close look
at the many bones that make up our body.
We learned that the skull protects the brain, the ribcage protects the lungs, and the spinal column protects the nerves. Did you know that the spinal column is made of 33 bones?
Presented with the challenge of finding the names of the bones of a skeleton, the students worked with a partner on an iPad to correctly label each bone.
Second Grade Pen Pals
It was a very exciting day when the HCA Second Graders received their first pen pal letter from the Second Graders at Holy Child School at Rosemont. The students replied with a letter to their new friends and sent along Halloween wishes too.
Using Halloween stickers, the students created a special scene to send to their pen pals.
